ABOUT

Sasa’s passion for pottery began more than 22 years ago in London where she studied with Helena Giras. In early 2000 Sasa studied further with Barbara Campbell-Allen (BCA) at the Workshop Art Centre in Sydney. Here she also became technical assistant and studio manager in ceramics. The following 16 years Sasa was included in many group and solo ceramic and art exhibitions. She continued to refine and develop her technical skills and personal practice at the Northern Beaches Tafe. This commitment to quality and excellence is clear and evident in all her pieces. In 2016 Sasa made the move from the Northern beaches of Sydney to the green valleys of Byron Hinterland with her family. Before realizing the dream of her own studio, Sasa worked in fellow ceramicist, Karen Jennings’ beautiful studio space. This allowed Sasa to continue making and to immerse herself in the vibrant local pottery community of the Northern Rivers. Sasa’s custom built studio is now complete and Sasa is working fulltime and running workshops to share her vast knowledge and skills. ‘My dream of one day having my own studio at home has finally been realized. The entire making process happens in my studio. Each piece handmade with my own hands, using my custom made ash glaze and fired in my electric kiln’. Sasa’s sensual sculptural forms invite the viewer to engage in a tactile response. Since 2012 Sasa has expanded and developed a range of now sought after unique functional tableware’.
